Jennifer was trained in the atelier style of painting in France and the US with Ted Seth Jacobs and Tony Ryder. Closer to home, she has completed programs in contemporary methods of printmaking, painting and drawing at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the University of British Columbia. She feels she is always learning from other artists and illustrators, many of them local, such as fellow members of Vancouver's own life-drawing studio, Basic Inquiry, and the Federation of Canadian Artists. When not painting, she is writing and performing stand-up comedy as well as writing stories and books; Fadimatu, Sleeping with the Insane, and Bonjour Minuit.
